Resignation
It is a sad moment to resign on April 30 from this bright gem of a journal. Its founding six years ago was dictated by the need to produce a specialised journal combining the best of assisted human reproduction with the dynamic world of molecular biology. It is now well established, with its own specialities and audience, and on current evidence with an Impact Factor that could dwarf other journals in its field. A widening data base will inevitably attract ever more papers, to confirm it as the leading journal in its field.
I thank so many people who helped to establish this journal by sharing my belief in the opportunities a new journal devoted to molecular aspects of human reproduction. I send special thanks to Roseanne Hansen, who came from exotic Toowoomba to take charge of the journal. I also thank deeply the other editors and referees who have given unstinting time and effort to ensuring the success and high standards of the journal, and the secretarial and production staff in the office, especially Lucy Leighton, for so superbly handling its affairs. Whatever may happen in the future of our field, molecular analyses will play a highly significant role and the ESHRE journals are now fully poised to take full advantage of them.
