The cover image shows Effects of trichostatin A (TSA) on the acetylation status of histones H3 and H4 and the subcellular localization of BRD4 in mouse oocytes and early embryos. Oocytes at germinal vesicle (GV) (A, H, O), GV breakdown (B, I, P), metaphase I (MI) (C, J, Q) and MII stages (D, K, R) and fertilized oocytes at 1-cell (E, L, S), 2-cell (F, M, T) and 2-cell metaphase (G, N, U) stages were treated with TSA, collected, fixed and immunostained with antibodies against AcH3/K9K14 (A-G), AcH4/K5 (H-N), or BRD4 (O-U), all of which were visualized by Cy2- (A-N) or Cy3- (O-U) labelled secondary antibodies. DNA was stained with Hoechst 33342. For a clear view, the metaphase chromosome is enlarged on the right or left lower corner of each corresponding panel. Bar, 70 µm. (See Nagashima et al., pp. 141-148).
