MCP-1 expression in regressing corpus luteum
The cover of Molecular Human Reproduction shows the expression of monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) during the regression of human corpus luteum. Staining of early (insert) and regressing (main photograph) corpus luteum with an anti-human MCP-1 antibody indicated the MCP-1 expression is greatest during regression coincident with an influx of macrophages. MCP-1 expression was strongest in the endothelial cells of blood vessels (long arrows). Luteal cells (open arrow) and macrophages (filled arrows) are also indicated. For further details, see pages 697-702.
