Cover design cAMP-dependent transcription factors in pregnancy and labour The front cover of Molecular Human Reproduction shows changes in the expression levels of cyclic AMP-dependent transcription factors between non-pregnant, pregnant and spontaneous labouring myometrial samples. The study by Bailey et al. (pages 648Ð660) reported expression variations of a 43 kDa form of CREB, a 28 kDa CREM-like protein, and the full-length 39 kDa protein. These transcription factors may form a link between the accumulation of cAMP and the regulation of cAMP-responsive genes in controlling myometrial quiescence during pregnancy and parturition.
