Cover design Father to son passage of Y deletion including DAZ, CDY1 and BPY2 The front cover of Molecular Human Reproduction shows the results of Southern blot analysis of Y chromosome genes in a father and his three sons. Samples from a fertile male (M), fertile female (F) and an unrelated AZFc deleted individual were examined as controls. The deletion passed from the father to his three sons included the DAZ, CDY1 and BPY2 loci. This study indicates that these AZFc genes are not necessary for sustained fertility.
